A Helping Hand
Every now and then something comes along that makes you do a double-take look at your life. Are you giving back enough? Are you being kind enough? Are you helping enough? If your answer is “yes” to all of these questions, then good for you. If your answer is “no” then, girl, you need help; hence why we’re loving the new non-profit, ELEMENT 7.
Formed just over a year ago by local sisters, Scottie and Holland Miller, element 7 is a group that serves to organize group volunteer opportunities and vacations to any location you desire. You simply determine that you’d like to spend your free time volunteering, figure out where you want to go or what you want to do, and then call Scottie and Holland. They will then serve as the liaisons between your group and the volunteer organization, putting together every detail for you including transportation, food, accommodations, volunteer opportunities, and even a community outing.
Named for “a distinct group inside a community” (element) and the number of continents (seven), e7 also offers other opportunities to lend a hand such as pre-planned weekend trips and emergency trips to disaster areas. The best way to keep abreast of these opportunities, is to sign up for their newsletter.
So, all of you “no” girls, give them a call and get yourself back to “yes.” Word.
