Beer, Does a Body Good
If your mama raised you right, you know that a beer a day will keep the doctor away. Wait… Or, was it a “glass of wine a day…?” No… Wait! We’ve got it. It was “delish food, cheap drinks, cozy setting, good friends, central location, outdoor patio and free parking!” Yep, that’s it! We knew we were close.
For those of you who love the likes of Upstream, Mimosa Grill, Zink, M5, etc., but cringe at the price tag, fear no more. With years of experience in such places, executive chef, Tom Condron, and general manager, Matt Pera, are coming together as owners for the first time ever to open THE LIBERTY! This fine establishment will be the best of everything, with a perfect blend of amazingly divine food (seriously ladies, Tom used to run the kitchen at some of the nicest restaurants in the QC), an atmosphere so cozy that you feel like you’re in a big blanket, TV’s for the game, an outdoor patio with a fireplace, and a drink menu that hosts 20 beers on tap, 60 bottled beers, 30 wines by the glass (none over $9), and 50 wines by the bottle. Not only that, they will have different specials EVERYDAY! That means, even if you “accidentally” bought that Calvin Klein dress, that you should still go because something will always be on the cheap. It’s simply maaavelous.
Called “The Liberty” in an effort to both mirror the pubs of Europe and as a symbol of freedom from the corporate world, Matt and Tom have created a place where you can literally go at 5:00 for a business happy hour, 7:00 for dinner with your parents, and 9:00 for Monday Night Football with your beau. AND, if you’re really hungry but can’t even afford the $2 PBR on tap, pull out your fancy fingers and do a trade. In the main dining area there will be a “Starving Artist Board” where local artists can trade a chalkboard sketch for a free meal (and maybe even beer)! Not a bad deal if we do say so ourselves.
