Celeb Friday – Dan the Shoe Man
Whether you’re a shoe-aholic, a member of the GLTB community, or just a gorgeous resident of the QC, Dan Mauney has most likely shaped your life in some way. Not only is Dan a partner in Sloan Boutique and fab shoe boutique STEP by Sloan, he is also the co-founder and main man for the humongous and infamous GLTBS mobile party, Takeover Friday. No matter what, Dan always brings a smile to our face and is one of the main reasons Charlotte is so fabulous. Love. Here is his (hysterical) story, in his own words…

WHERE DO YOU LIVE? Uptown Charlotte
1) What do you wear to bed? My birthday suit.
2) Do you smoke when no one is watching? I am always smoking …as in HOT…not cigs nor other.
3) Tell us about the last time you got arrested? Please refer to my attorney, Chris Connelly, for that question.
4) Do you throw trash out the window of your car? No, I usually open the door and tell him to get out. I don’t want a lawsuit.
5) What do you do when you’re all alone at home? I dance like Britney Spears….If You Seek Amy!
6) What is your biggest vice? I am addicted to my wiener… his name is Spike and he is a dachshund… get your minds out of the gutter.
7) Have you ever been in a physical fight? No, but I can recite the words to Olivia Newton John’s “Let’s Get Physical.”
8. Have you ever flirted (or more!) with the opposite sex to get a job? Yes, but it was obvious I was gay and I didn’t get the job.
9) If you had $1,000 that you had to spend today on someone else, what would you buy? I would buy myself a gift and put their name on it.
10) If you could have a magical power, what would it be? I have always wanted to be Wonder Woman and jump over buildings.
11) What do you most like about your appearance? Everything!
12) On what do you spend too much money? Cosmetics
13) What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done for money? Completed a questionnaire for waxMAMA. (Dan, we’ll be sure to pay you with martinis and hugs.)
14) Where would we typically find you on a Saturday night? Lying under the bar.
15) What do you eat more of than anything else? Ice but I throw it up before it melts… swimsuit season is around the corner.
16) Have you ever broken someone’s heart? Yes, but I glued it back together.
17) What is it that you most dislike? Britney Spears haters.
18) What is the last thing you did that was truly awesome? Orchestrated a fashion show of men in nothing but their underwear called BRIEF! benefiting Cystic Fibrosis.
19) What is your biggest regret? Losing my hair.
