Crafty Short Spans
Fellow A.D.D. poster children, this one’s for you. What is hats, then pets, then art, then beauty, then shirts, then cacti, then jewelry, then more hats, then candles, then all of it all over again? Paradise for us “Short Spans!”
If you are looking for a one-stop-shop for all of your gift buying needs, then head over to the Mecca of all things crafty, THE BOULEVARD AT NODA. Opened in June 2006 by gallery owner, Allison Wolf Hertzler, The Boulevard has turned a previously run-down warehouse into row after row of creative and gorgeous goodies, all made by local artisans and craftsmen. Each “vendor” has their own small section, so it’s like a full street of window shopping, only it’s all under one roof.
Allison added business partner, Cindy Harris, a year and a half after opening and they have since created a place where “entrepreneurs help other entrepreneurs get their foot in the door.” If you have a crafty skill, this is a great place to sell your wares and avoid the headaches of owning your own store. If you are looking for a unique gift for yourself or a friend, you’ve found it. And if you’re itching to do a good deed today, sure!, we’d love for you to buy us one of everything… Oh yea.
www.blvdnoda.com, 453 E. 36th Street. They are also open during the NoDa Gallery Crawls on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month. Girlie goods and vino = yes please.
