Don’t Eat the Shampoo
Did you know that cancer kills more kids under the age of 18 than asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and AIDS combined? Holy cow. We didn’t. Did you know that a group of people just like us has raised over $500,000 for pediatric cancer research JUST by selling cookies?? Sorry Suzie Girl Scout, there’s a new Thin Mint in town.
Started by a group of caring parents with sick little ones, COOKIES FOR KIDS’ CANCER is an organization that raises money by holding bake sales all over the country. Back in 2007, one of Charlotte’s very own little ones, Grier Christenbury, was diagnosed with pediatric cancer at just 2 1/2. Man. Immediately, his family became involved with CFKC and even had their very own bake sale during Festival in the Park, raising over $2,000! Now, the Christenbury’s and CFKC are working together to reach even higher.
Have you heard of the immaculately smelling bath-time delights from PHILOSOPHY? WOW! Philosophy is this amazing line of bath products that not only are amazing for your skin and hair, but smell like heaven. They have all sorts of products and scents, but the most amazing part, we think, is that they have a whole page dedicated to charitable “causes.” And, lo and behold, CFKC is one!
From now through November 1, 100% of the proceeds from the 16 oz. Chocolate Chip Cookie High Foaming Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath (yep, you can use the same product for all of it) will go to CFKC! That means, not only will you finally be able to bathe in chocolate, but you will also be putting $16 in the research coffer with every purchase. As Philosophy themselves quote, “children encourage us to be creative, fun and live in the moment. they remind us to believe in magic and to color outside the lines.” And we tend to agree. Just don’t eat the shampoo.
GRIER is our hero!!
