GREEN WITH NEELA
Have you ever been at the grocery store, looked down at your basket of u.g.l.y. brown plastic bags full of cereal and tampons, and thought to yourself, “Are these bags good for ANYTHING other than picking up Fido’s poo while we’re walking around the neighborhood? And, where in the world do they go when I throw them in the trash, full of Fido’s poo?” We’ll tell you….the landfill for potentially over 100 YEARS! Now, that’s nuts.
LO! Here come two North Carolina mamas who made it their mission to design fashionable, yet reusable grocery bags. No more “u.g.l.y.” … no more “landfill.” Meet two long-time friends, Renee and Carla (together = “Neela”), who grew up in Raleigh and Hickory, respectively, and are forging their way, head first, into this new era of green living. They have created NEELA BAGS, a line of reusable bags that not only help us save our earth, but have fabulous designs named things such as Giraffe, Avian Coral, and Ocean.
Our favorite is the MARKET PACK that comes with 5 fold-up market tote bags that all fit into one, larger bag with a gusseted bottom, but that’s not all they offer. Also check out the insulated bag, perfect for your 12-pack of the “Silver Bullet” at the next Panther’s home game.
Available at Paper Twist (6401 Morrison Boulevard) and Salutations (14825 Ballantyne Village Way). Or, check out their WEBSITE.
