Hot Bag Cool Fab(ric)

DSC_0001.jpegOK.  When discussing guys, the saying goes, “Big hands, big….”  You know.  So what do you say when talking about girls?  That’s easy.  “Hot bag, hot va…”  Don’t make that face.  That’s just the way it is.

Thus, we must say that we’re in luck when it comes to the hot bags from SEAMS AND LEDGES!  Charlotte resident and Winthrop grad, Jill Brashear, starting making handbags ten years ago as gifts for her friends.  As a full-time seamstress of window treatments, bedding and clothing, Jill already knew her way around a sewing machine (Us?  Not so much…) and as the years went by and demand for her bags grew, she finally put them on the retail market just two weeks ago.

We must admit that when we first spotted Jill’s bags across the room at Jewelry Artists of Charlotte, we made a bee-line straight for them, pushing everyone out of the way, chugging our wine and throwing our cheese and crackers as we went.  SO pretty.  The fabrics are beautifully colorful and definitely have an “Anthropologie” aura to them.  And, there are three styles to choose from:  the clutch (comes with a hand handle on the back), the shoulder bag (comes with a detachable flower), and the hobo (beautifully big for us pack rats of the world).  You can either purchase a ready-made bag or can customize them to your heart’s content, including embroidery.  True to form, our spells “A.N.G.E.L.”  Right.
