(Sort of) Weekeeend wax – 02.11.10

kent youngstromMorning gorgeous glamazons!  We’re just going to discuss three events today because we feel that they are all super fab and want to hone your focus  So very devious… Loving our subscribers.

HOT PAINT, COOL DUDE – Tomorrow, 7:30 pm – GREAT date night. (Ahem, boys.  Trust us on this one.)  Tomorrow night, one of our favorite local artists and previous contributor to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, kenT youngstroM will be having an art show and LIVE PAINTING PERFORMANCE at Revolution in the EpiCenter (and hosted by waxMAMA!).  Basically, after everyone has settled in and relaxed with some bevvies and shopping, kenT will hit the stage to simultaneously paint both an 8′ x 8′ canvas and a beautiful (and nearly nude… see boys, we won’t lead you wrong) girl in super speed, and right in front of your eyes.  Insta-art.  And, if you wear a white or black shirt to the event, kenT will even paint YOU if you want him to!  Fab.  (Click the HERE for a video.)

SHOP FOR BOYS – Feburary 20, 6:30 pm - YEA!  We’ve been begging the dating gods for this and it’s finally here!  Head to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s GUYS & DOLLS AUCTION to sip on vino, peruse the silent auction tables, and YES, bid on boys!  This is a great event for a great cause.  Tickets are $100 and include beer, wine, heavy apps and live music.  There will be over 600 people there so insanity is sure to ensue.  MAMA love.  (Brooke is one of the bachelorettes so send your cutest single amigos!)  Click HERE for tickets.

MIDAS TOUCH – February 20, 7:00 pm – As adults, we have to do what we can to maintain our youth.  Thus, what better way than to dress up in Mardi Gras fabulousness and hit the 4th annual LUPUS MARDI GRAS GALA!  The event is not your typical black tie affair, but is full-on Mardi Gras madness.  There will be a mask contest, a ceremonial crowning of the King & Queen, a casino, fortune tellers, a king cake raffle, a silent auction, and live tunes provided by Hot Sauce.  HOT SAUCE!  And more, all proceeds from the event will benefit the Lupus Foundation of America, Piedmont Chapter.  Quick note: Did you know that the butterfly is the most recognizable symbol for lupus because of the “Butterfly Rash” that many lupus patients have across their face?  Thus, in honor of our friends with lupus, we will be temporarily renaming our waxMAMA butterfly “The Lupus Lovely.” (Click HERE for a video.)
