The Barre of Excellence
Think your daily thirty on the Stairmaster gets it done? Think again Exercise Plateau. Even Material Madge ain’t got nothing on this.
Yesterday I, Brooke, had the embarrassingly eye-opening, yet amazing experience that is… PURE BARRE. A concept founded in 2001 by dancer, choreographer and fitness guru, Carrie Rezabek, Pure Barre is a “total body workout that burns fat and produces lifted seats, toned arms, thin thighs, and flat abs by fusing elements of ballet, pilates and weights in a 55 minute intense session.” And “intense” it is. Yeow!
Having just opened its first Charlotte location on April 5 by Owner, Bratschi Johnston, and Operating Partner, Casie Scott, I strolled my “gym rat” butt in there thinking that I’d show these folks who was boss. Holy sit up, was I ever wrong. Armed with only a wall bar, a tiny rubber ball, two pound weights and an exercise band, Bratschi was able to successfully and quickly have me begging for mercy as I realized that this body of mine has a long way to go. See, what Pure Barre does is heat up your muscles through intense exercises and then moves you quickly into precise stretching methods that literally pull and stretch your hot muscles into lean, toned muscly goodness. It’s the “heat and stretch” and it’s taking this nation by storm.
Pure Barre only opens locations in very selective cities, so we should feel very honored and also thankful as we are all now blessed with THE next big thing in exercise, “barre” none. Yahooo! Here’s to long, lean exercise machines!
